Cat - Bladder Infection
Romeo, my 1 1/2 year old male seal point began urinating outside of the litter 2-3 weeks ago. Most recently he was attempting to urinate and was unable. $671.98 later, he has a severe bladder infection, which required anesthesia for catheter placement to empty his bladder. His bladder contained urine resembling tomato soup. Any suggestions for preventing a reoccurrence. Thanks for any suggestions. :)-Patty

The most common thing that happens to male, neutered cats is urinary calculi (you didn't say if Romeo was neutered). Hydrangea is a must both to treat and prevent this problem. Cats (or any animal for that matter) should never drink chlorinated tap water. It can cause urinary tract crystals and/or cancer.
JP-X is fantastic for urinary tract infections (bladder or kidney). Give him one, three times daily. Even if it's the result of crystals in the urine, it will help with the resulting infection and the blood in the urine. -Georgiana

What are you feeding Romeo? Human grade pet diet is important and perhaps an organic raw diet. Cornsilk is soothing. -Robin |
