Hot Flashes
I have a friend who has tried many things for hot flashes and night sweats. She did a hormone test where she sent in a saliva sample and it came back that she is extremely high in all the areas, progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen. So she decided to do an experiment and not do any Pro-G-Yam Cream for two days. She only had a couple of slight hot flashes but now the next day she has started getting them again. Would appreciate any advise. Thanks. -Bev Brown

The liver may need support. The liver is responsible for destroying or detoxifying excess hormones. Maintains hormonal balance.
I would also want to see if her adrenals and her thyroid are off and if a more complete cleanse like Enviro-Detox or All Cell Detox are called for.
Some questions: does she have uterine cysts or fibroids? If yes, All Cell Detox would be indicated.
Did she ever work with a lot of chemicals or near an area with pesticides or other chemical pollutants? Did she take a lot of medicines in the past? If yes, Enviro-detox is indicated
Does she have or had skin or nail problems? Excess weight difficult to lose? Depressed or easily angered? If yes, Liver Cleanse may be good choice.
Does she have problems getting to sleep and going to sleep? Does her tongue quiver when she extends it out? Does she get low blood sugar? If yes, then the Adrenal glands may be exhausted and Nervous Fatigue Formula is indicated.
However, if she has fatigue, weakness, slight blood pressure and or diabetes, rounding of her face, "Buffalo hump"(a fat accumulation over the upper back), facial hair, then she could be suffering from Excessive Adrenal output. Some products for this are Wild Yam and Chaste Tree, or Adrenal Support.
For the thyroid,
HYPOTHYROID (underactive thyroid) - Self Test This test described is by Dr. Broda Barnes, M.D. His book is "Hypothyroidism".
His test is done as follows. 1) Shake down an oral thermometer before going to bed, and put it within easy reach of the bed; 2) Upon awakening in the morning, place and hold the thermometer bulb under an armpit and lie still for a full 10 minutes by the clock; 3) Read and record the temperature and date; 4) Repeat for 5 days and calculate the average temperature; 5) If the average is below 97.8 degrees F, suspect hypothyroid; if above 98.4 degrees F suspect an overactive thyroid (or an infection)--couple this information with your symptoms
Take test for 3-4 days, not during ovulation time or menses.
Medical studies show that a blood test will not show anything wrong unless thyroid is 50% underactive, .
If you can muscle test her liver, adrenal, thyroid and pancreas that would be great.
I would also recommend Master Gland formula because it covers all the glands and the liver needed to maintain proper hormonal health.
So her program can look like the following: Liver Cleanse or Enviro Detox (has few herbs that cleanse the liver) for the first two weeks, continue and then add... Master Gland (take separate time from liver cleanse) ** if need also add All Cell Detox (4-5 a day) ** if need support for the Adrenals pick correct one depending if it is in excess or underactive. ** if thyroid is underactive, then add either Thyroid Support or TS II with hops if she tends to be very cold in her hands and feet. Best wishes. -Lourdes Martinez

To help stop hot flashes and night sweats: 1. Stop drinking caffeine 2. Cut out hot and spicy food 3. Alcohol will aggravate 4. Good book out called "Natural Woman, Natural Menopause". I don't remember who wrote it, but it is full of great information. It helped me lots. -R. Draper |
