Calcium Magnesium - Muscle Spasms
Does anyone have any information on a direct link to a deficiency in calcium and magnesium and muscle spasms particularly in the neck and back area? -Tracy

Yes, I have learned from several sources that a calcium/magnesium deficiency can cause certain individuals to have twitches and spasms, although I must admit that the neck and back area is a bit more uncommon than the leg muscles, particularly the calves. Also, some people have problems with their eyes twitching. I would suggest the calcium/magnesium supplement with a dose of 1000 mg. of calcium/500 mg. of magnesium twice a day. This may be a little more than most people take, but start out at this dose till the spasms are gone, then try backing off to a maintenance dose of half of that. -Vinton |
