Body Type - Pineal
The pineal gland is a small gland located just about in the center of the skull. It is richer in lecithin than any other part of the body, and is the main producer of Melatonin. The pineal gland is perhaps the least understood of all body systems. We know that it is greatly affected by light, and is primarily responsible for SAD syndrome when not enough light is supplied to the body. The pineal receives its light primarily through the eyes. Full spectrum light is essential for the balance of moods, growth, and development.
The pineal are known as the master of all other glands. It is the king of the glandular system. It is often referred to as the third eye, and is responsible for the mystery part of a person.
Causes of Pineal Weakness:
Too much artificial light
Tinted glasses change the wavelength and spectrum of light, thereby affecting the pineal gland.
Protein imbalances.
Indications of Pineal Weakness:
Need for excessive sleep, or sleep disorder
Menstrual problems, breast soreness, craving alcohol.
Weak or sore teres major.
Jammed head bones.
Suggestions to Strengthen Pineal Gland:
Go to sleep earlier.
Eat food high in lecithin.
Parsley is good for pineal.
Don't take medication containing epinephrine.
Become involved in more physical activities.
Physical Features:
Head seems large in proportion to the body.
Generally small structure, not well-muscled or tall.
Personality Tendencies:
Mystical, intellectual
Creative
Idealistic
Highly "aware"
Common Health Problems:
Physically weak
Too much intellect, mental activity
Vivid dreams
Low blood pressure, high pulse rate
Weak pituitary, adrenals, reproductive
