Shin Splints
Any recommendations for girl who gets shin splints when exercising? -Shelton

Weight training is essential for all aerobic exercisers to prevent injuries. Too much too soon is often a problem that can manifest itself through shin splints. The proper Exercise prescription = lots of stretching (holding for at least 30 seconds), plenty of rest (one day in between bouts of aerobic exercise), and a slow progressive program with cross training. Training the same every day is another precursor for injuries. Good luck and don't give up. -Paula Copeland |
