Pets - Herbs for
Our beloved chocolate lab was hit by a car last week and suffered radial nerve damage in her front left limb. The vet said more than likely her leg would have to be amputated. She had no other injuries, no broken bones, fractures or internal injuries. She is also very depressed, acting and sore, I'm sure. Are there any herbs that would be safe for her to take to help with this. -Lisa RT

Hi Lisa, Animals respond very well to Morinda, Noni Juice. I would let her drink as much as she wants to speed the recovery. -Nancy

Lisa, Before you allow an amputation try Gotu Kola and St John's Wort, Both have been shown to be helpful in nervous system disorders in dogs and the St John's Wort may help her depressed state, likely due to the pain and inability to run and play as she did in the past. Recommend also you find a holistic vet who can do either acupuncture or acupressure treatments to realign her energy meridians and help ease the complications. Many NSP distributors also can perform muscle testing to determine any other systems weakness that are not apparent on the surface. Recommend also a full antioxidant regimen. Caution, the herbs above may make her light sensitive for a while and since these are fairly powerful you need to not over due the dosage. Hope this is of help to steer you in the right direction. -Dave Finke |
