Monocytes

What does elevated monocytes indicate? -Jan
- - - - - - - - - -
Monocytes are derived from bone marrow and circulate in the blood briefly before entering the tissues in which they become macrophages. Macrophages phagocytize (ingest) large particles and cellular debris that neutrophils cannot handle. More blood monocytes are marginated along vessel walls than are actually circulating.

Increased monocyte counts (monocytosis) may occur during periods of stress or steroid administration, and also when there is a high tissue demand for macrophages. This could also be due to injury or infection. -Suzanne

What would a low monocyte count indicate? -Kayla

Monocytes are necessary to initiate the normal inflammatory repair, cancer-fighting, infection-fighting, mercury-fighting response and since everyone is always undergoing some degree of repair, toxic exposure or microbial threat then a certain level of monocytes must always be present. Elevated monocytes are just an indicator of severe chronic inflammation. Try the IF-C and Yucca.

The monocyte is a young macrophage. The cells that line sinusoids in spleen, liver and lymph notes derive from the same monocyte-macrophage pool. Normal macrophages have enzyme systems capable of synthesizing and of degrading sphingolipids, compounds important in biologic membranes and especially prominent in the nervous system. Monocytes are of primary importance in diagnosing mononucleosis. At the onset of illness the WBC may be low but by the end of the first week the count will usually be between 10,000 - 30,000mm. There is an increase in lymphocytes as well as monocytes which will often be over 15%.

MONOCYTES
Increased Parasites Hepatitis (SGPT) Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (Creatinine) Acute Infection; Mumps

Decreased Toxic reactions Infection

ELEVATED MONOCYTES
Addressing liver stagnation is most important. Simultaneously consider blood cleansers, anti-virals and liver regulators.

Monocytes are elevated in the break down of non-diseased tissue and chronic inflammation. This could also indicate that the immune system is compromised as well. A certain amount of monocytes are necessary for repair, helping with toxic exposure or microbial threat. -Kimberly Balas

When things are within the allopathic or pathological ranges, it can still be out of balance physiologically. So you really have to look at the tests as not being "stand-alone" tests for any of them. They are all part of communities that have to be kept in balance. There will need to be some range adjustments to see the physiological side of that though. This is the whole course we offer on blood chemistry through Tree of Light to teach you how to do this and to find the organ or gland that is most targeted by any imbalance.

As for monocytes being low, it indicates toxic conditions and even possible infection. Even though your other tests show up in balance according to medical laboratory standards (which were based on average "sick" people) it doesn't mean that the body isn't dealing with a toxic reaction somewhere. -Kimberly Balas

Q: what does 3.9 mean on the white blood count?

This is low WBC's and is indicative of toxins. -Kimberly Balas
