Migraines - Child

Any suggestions on a 4 yr old child with migraines that hit quite often. Started when she was 2 yr old. Also does not sleep at night. -Virginia Marcum

I would suggest food allergies. Check out a book by Doris Rapp, M.D. Is this your child? Discovering and Treating Unrecognized Allergies in Children and Adults. Also chiropractic adjustments may help. Helped with my child. Lastly, is child having a bowel movement everyday? If not, cleanse the bowel. -Alison

Use NSP's Vaccine Detox as well as Headache or Migraine homeopathics. In a child of this age, always consider the possibility that vaccinations may be a cause of these and other symptoms.

Investigate to see if the child has had any reactions within days or weeks after being vaccinated.

What is her home life like, emotionally? The tension in an unsettled, stressful home can lead to stress headaches.

The migraines could also be a result of food allergies, low blood sugar, or a simple lack of sleep.

Stress-J is an excellent temporary sleep aid for children. Avoid caffeine and sugars, especially near bedtime.

An anti-candida diet and cleansing using liquid LB Extract may be helpful. Add Acidophilus and Bifidophilus to her diet. Ginger may help relieve headaches.

Make sure the child is getting plenty of vitamins, especially B-complex and E.

Throw away the television, or at least limit viewing to slow-moving, mellow programs. Fast-flickering lights have been shown to cause all sorts of nasty brain-changes, especially in children. -David Ross, N.D

Good News! Lavender EO to the rescue. Had Mom mix some Lavender EO in some Olive Oil and rub on the child's feet at night. They moved her to another bedroom with no TV and different bed and along with the Lavender Oil she is sleeping all night. Fact is Mom says when it turns dark she comes and asks to go to bed and have her feet rubbed. Plus the headaches have seemed to stop. Mom said her Dad was really sick and had died but did not clarify if it was in that room or bed. -Virginia Marcum
