Hyperinsulinemia
Hello, I have a friend who was recently diagnosed as having hyperinsulinemia - the production of too much insulin and otospongiosis - softening of the bone.
What herbs / EO's would be helpful in treating these conditions? They are looking for nutritional ways to treat. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. -Michelle

Steven Horne recommends eating small regular meals with adequate protein along with low glycemic carbohydrates. Chromium and magnesium, zinc, manganese, B-vitamins and vitamin A. Herbs -Licorice Root, Ayurvedic Blood Sugar Formula, HY-C, Target Pro-Pancreas. If you do muscle testing, test these to see which one tests the strongest. High Potency Grapine and Super Antioxidants are important also. Milk Thistle for the liver. Vitamin B6 to help get the magnesium into the cells. Evening Primrose Oil and Black Currant Oil provide gamma-linolenic acid, since elevated insulin levels disturb essential fatty acid metabolism. Essential Oils: By- helps body use insulin more efficiently. Cinnamon helps with digestion and kills the bacterial and viral properties that kill beta cell production in diabetics. Hope this helps you get started in the right direction. -Janice McComb
