Gas

I have been taking Vitamin C to bowel tolerance and have been experiencing gas as a result. Would the anti-gas formulas work for this and if so which one? Thanks. -Deon Jensen

I would say you are taking just a tad too much. You are almost reaching the peak of "bowel tolerance". I would suggest cutting back slightly. I personally, muscle test amounts -- when using time released, sometimes over reach bowel tolerance in a few hours and have to take psyllium. -Georgiana

Anti-Gas Formula is a good place to start. Also, take 2 Digestive Enzymes before a meal. Avoid sulphur containing foods, beans and any spicy/vinegar combinations. Stick to more mild foods like greens, rice, fruits, whole grains etc. And most important - CHEW your food - you're eating to fast - 30x per bite. -Mike

I know eating too fast has to be a huge part of it. Most of the time when I eat I am ravenous. I was taking fiber for awhile and it did help with elimination but I thought it might be contributing to the gas. I also searched this forum and found that digestive bitters are good for hiatal hernias. Is it safe to take such supplements if I am on prescription medication? -Gloria

Mike was right on . . . . But, not only is digestion, but often elimination (or lack of) that can cause gas. Be sure you are consuming enough fiber and having a BM for each meal. -Georgiana

Try Peppermint Essential Oil. You can mix a couple of drops in lotion and just rub it on your abdomen. -Andrew
