				| E.O. - Bergamot & Sun
I burned my arm from hot cooking pan - I put Bergamot Oil on it, but then forgot and got out in sun. It appears my arm has burned where the oil was applied, almost like a chemical burn, not like a normal sunburn. I applied a cold gauze wrap of chilled Colloidal Silver, was wondering if another oil would help, or hurt? Very red, and swollen. -Cory

The Colloidal Silver is a great idea but if you want to use another essential oil, use Lavender. This is the oil that is best for burns. I would mix it with Aloe Vera Gel and just slather it all over the area. Don't be afraid of using a lot of Lavender, it will help heal and help it not scar. -Mike, N.D.

As a general rule one should not go in the sun or tanning beds just before or after the use of essential oils. -Nancy Yoakum

Just a reminder that all essential oils in the Orange, Lemon, Bergamot family are highly photosensitive. They will leave a mark when applied to skin and then exposed to sun. That includes spritzes. Even though they have a great summer scent, remember to be careful where you apply them. -Catherine Parker
