Cleanse - Salt Purge

The "Salt Purge," A Yoga Cleanse
The following was given to me years ago and includes a series of exercises which I will attempt to describe here. All notes have been included as given to me and do not necessarily represent my current nutritional opinions. J Candy Arnold, Author "Footprints On the Path".

1. In a quart of water (body temperature) add one rounded tablespoon of sea salt - mix and drink one glass.
2. Move around a little. Walk slowly so as to be sure the solution will "stay down".
3. Drink the remaining solution - one glass at a time, following #2 above.
4. "Swing and Sway" exercise - Repeat five times:
Assume standing position - feet about 30" or more apart, arms spread horizontally,
a) In breath - turn upper body slowly to the left to maximum-coming up on right toes
b) Out breath - Back to center
c) In breath, to the right, come up on left toes
d) Out breath, back to center
5. "Golfers Swing" exercise - Repeat five times:
Assume same foot position as #4 - Bend at waist, hands folded together and near floor as close as possible without touching floor:
a) In breath - swing to the left without raising hands further from floor - hold 4 seconds
b) Out breath, back to center
c) In breath, to the right, hold 4 seconds
d) Out breath, back to center
6. "Coo-Coo Variation" exercise - Repeat five times:
Assume face prone position, hands at shoulder level (like doing a pushup), palms down, toes on floor:
a) In breath, raise to stiff arm position, allow body to "hang" about an inch or less above floor (like a partial pushup)
b) Turn head and look at left toes - hold five seconds
c) Out breath, back to center (still on raised toes, do not let body fall to floor like a pushup)
d) In breath, look at right toes - hold five seconds
e) Attempt to repeat exercise five times without resting on floor for best results
7. Assume standing position - feet about 10" apart - move left foot out front whereas left heel is even with right big toe. Point the left foot to the right about 2"-3", the right foot is pointed to the left about the same (like being pigeon-toed except one foot is back of the other).
a) Assume "Squat" position - hands on respective legs just above knees.
b) In breath - forcefully attempt to push right knee under left knee while forcing knees apart - hold five seconds.
c) Out breath, relax five seconds, while maintaining pose above.
d) Repeat "b" five times, holding each about five seconds.
e) Reverse foot position and "a" through "d" above.
**It is important to apply pressure to the lower abdominal region (at and below the naval region) in this exercise.
8. Have at least one quart of warm fresh water at easy reach in bathroom area while sitting on water closet/toilet. As evacuation commences, start drinking fresh water and continue to drink fresh water until evacuation is clear.

Notes:
1. This purge must be done on an empty stomach (a glass of lemon juice is permissible) and time preference is a.m. within the hour on arising from sleep.

2. Within the hour after purge a glass of lemon juice - wait 15 to 30 minutes - eat white rice, overcooked to a "mush" consistency. (This is to coat the intestinal tract), a little yogurt (plain) to replace bacteria. After this you may eat what you wish; however, a sane diet is in the asking at this point. Your body has started cleansing - help it-be good to it - it will return the favor.

3. If you fail to evacuate with the salt solution - repeat the routine from #1 to #7 - I (the man to gave the info to Candy) have had students repeat twice more before success.

4. This routine has ridded "Beet Tumors" which are located behind the navel (resemble the beet root) - a quite common thing.

5. If evacuation is possible but difficult - "shake" the abdomen. Force all air out of lungs. Draw abdominal in and up - Forcefully raise and lower (rapidly) the abdomen as long as you can with no air. Relax, take in air and repeat as often as necessary until evacuation is easy (easier). In yoga this is called "Nouli Kriys" (could not make out spelling).

6. When in doubt, re-read instructions. Instructions given to J Candy Arnold by Art Long, Kennewick, WA 1969

** Notes from J Candy Arnold:
1. This series of exercises moves the salt water purge completely through the body. If the exercises are done correctly, the person will feel the movement, ending in the "urge" to evacuate.

2. I would consider the following nutritional supplements after evacuation: Bifidophilus Flora Force to replace friendly bacteria; PrimeForm Recovery, Mineral -Chi or any mineral supplement to replace electrolytes; Combination Potassium.
