Cleanse - Nursing Mom

Is there a cleanse that is safe for a nursing mom?? -Donna

I wouldn't do anything with Cascara in it or Senna while nursing because the baby would get it thru it's milk. BUT, you could do some mild cleansing with diet. Cut out the cheese and bread products, eat small amounts of meat, eggs and fish for protein and LOTS of green leafy veggies and fruit with every meal. LOTS and LOTS of green leafy veggies and watermelon will really clean you out. Once you are moving your bowels easily, you can add psyllium. Just don't block yourself up with the psyllium. A small amount of Magnesium complex will also loosen your bowels.

Watch baby to make sure you don't cleanse too fast or make baby's bowels too loose.
