Cat – Tummy Hard
My cat, Dopey, has a hard tummy. I have been giving him Black Walnut Extract (alcohol removed) after 12 hours of fasting for 4 days now. He fasts for 12 hours, gets his herb, 30 min later , food, then fasts another 12 hours.....I just ordered some Hydrangea, but can I do anything else? He is still chucking major hairballs and always wants to be held. Is this a healing crisis or am I missing something? -Leslie Lechner

This is where the Vets come in handy unless the definitive condition is known. I always encourage my clients to get the diagnosis first!!! Aside from that, try Food Enzymes, Flora Force, and Slippery Elm has worked wonders on stomach upset from both personal and professional use. Try the Slippery Elm first, but if it is a hairball, it needs to be digested and passed. Also, Marshmallow is good in this situation, but Slippery Elm also has mild laxative properties. Add Chlorophyll to his water and I have used the Distress Remedy on pets before with good results. -Lisa Ayala

You might try squeezing a Flax Seed Oil or Omega 3 Fish Oil Cap in his mouth or put it on his paws (if he won't willingly take it) and try to grease up his insides. Give him this with every meal and then some until he passes the obstruction. -Georgiana Duncan |
