Cat - Pin Worms
We have an eight week old kitten with pin worms. She has lots of mucus from eyes and a cough and sneezing. Besides Black Walnut what else should we be giving her? How long will it take with the Black Walnut to get rid of the worms? -Jan

Cats, being a B blood type are prone to this. If they are not getting enzymes to break things down then these condition are more likely to happen. Start mixing some hydrangea in with the food and add some Protease plus to some wet food to get enzymes in. You can also mix the Protease in some water and use a dropper to put it in the back of their throat. Colloidal Silver will work well for the infection. -Kimberly Balas

She has a virus called Rhino-something. Kittens often die because they can't see to feed. I would give her slippery elm/garlic VERY slow enemas . . . . if you can keep her hydrated and nourished for a few days, she will make it. Black Walnut would help the pin worms - but that's the least of her worries right now. Hope this helps you. -Georgiana

A few drops of Colloidal Silver will help with any viral, bacterial, or parasitical issue even in animals. And there is a book about herbal health for pets available, I saw it at the " Hart website". I have been using herbs on my cat since we have him (4 month, now he is 4 years), and I don't feed him " conventional" cat food, and his drinking water is filtered reverse-osmosis water ! -Susanne Papalia

Q: Is Black Walnut Extract a good remedy to give to a kitten with worms? If so, how many times a day, and how many drops?

Black Walnut can be toxic to animals and should only be used by an experienced person.
Here is a recipe that is safe and used for animals.
Combine the following ingredients;
2 parts pumpkin seeds raw and unsalted
1 part NSP Garlic powder
1 part Fennel seed
1 part NSP Yucca root.
Feed the mixture as part of your companions diet at a dosage of 1 teaspoon per pound of food fed daily. Feed 5 days on and 2 days off until no worms are seen. If this is not effective try adding 1 part Oregon Grape root powder or 1 part wormwood.
With most animals worms are obtained from the mother. These eggs will migrate to the muscle of the mother when she becomes one year old and hibernate until the animal becomes pregnant. The eggs are activated to migrate to the milk in the presence of pregnancy then passed to the off spring. This is why all kittens and puppies are born with worms unless the mother was wormed prior to breeding. -Suzanne |
